1. Mosa Meat’s “Clean” Hamburger
The first lab-grown burger cost $325,000 in 2013, but Mosa Meat is developing an affordable, beefed-up burger for everyone. Its team plans to roll out its hamburgers in stores by 2021.
2. JUST’s Wagyu Beef
JUST is developing cultured Wagyu beef products so that more people can experience the flavorful, marbled Japanese beef. While the meat products are still in production, you can reach for JUST’s plant-based cookie dough in the meantime.
3. Perfect Day’s Cream Cheese
Perfect Day has perfected lab-made dairy—no cows needed—and has used it to whip up a cream cheese spread that tastes just like the real thing.
4. Clara Foods’s Eggs
Vegans have long perfected plant-based eggs, but Clara Foods has gone one step further. Its cultured eggs, made from a lab-created cocktail of egg protein and yeast, are coming your way in 2020.
5. Memphis Meats’s Chicken Meatballs
One of the main contenders in Silicon Valley’s race to produce cultured meat, Memphis Meats, has lab-tested dishes like sizzling beef fajitas, tender chicken meatballs, and duck mince. They’re aiming to roll out products to stores in 2021.
