Genevieve Babineau: Welcome to The Catering Feed: The Catering Growth Podcast. Hi, I’m your host Genevieve Babineau. I’ve been the Catering Practice Manager at ezCater for just over a year and, previously, I had almost a decade of experience in the restaurant industry in sales, marketing, and operations. I am delighted to be your host and to bring you our podcast The Catering Feed. In The Catering Feed, we’re covering trends and insights in the restaurant and catering industry with leaders who have helped brands thrive.
In each episode, we’re going to cover a variety of topics—everything including designing a successful catering strategy; how to create a catering menu that’s truly consistent with your core brand; what’s the best way to build sales teams and grow demand; and, of course, how to ensure that your operational standard operating procedures (SOPs) are executed across your brand.
We are going to hear insights from all segments of the industry, from operations to marketing leaders, from fast casual to full-service. People like Gracie Prasanson of Jason’s Deli: “They’re looking for a brand that they can count on.” Scott Davis and Nicole Jackson from CoreLife Eatery: “People are so much more sensitive to what they’re eating. It’s not like the old days when you could just lay out a whole big tray of sandwiches and be done.” Melanie Frost from Ess-a-Bagel (“Your existing database is the most important thing because these are people who know you, know your product, love your food. So why not share more with them?”), and so many more.
It’s our goal to help you grow a profitable and sustainable catering business, whether you’re just starting to build your catering road map or whether you’re an industry veteran who’s looking to elevate your strategy with a fresh perspective. Because according to Technomic, the catering opportunity is [worth] over 60 billion dollars. Catering growth is up 6 percent year-over-year. Ninety percent of restaurants say that catering is important. So now is the time to build your catering strategy. Join us as we provide our take on building successful catering businesses in The Catering Feed.
